Brad Pitt donates 5 Million Dollars to build 150 Eco-Homes for New Orleans
Actor/activist Brad Pitt and the award winning German Architect Firm GRAFT have taken on the daunting task of rebuilding New Orleans after its devastation by hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. In a first step, local communities, national and international architect firms, various companies and volunteers began with the construction of 150 eco-friendly homes in the Lower 9th Ward, the area hardest hit by the storm and spanning 14 blocks. The project is a ray of hope for the many families who lost everything during the worst natural disaster in American history and have since been misplaced.

A multi-band concert, awareness-raising benefit for the local civic- environmental group "Tree People", who will be participating in the restoration of Griffith Park (that was partly destroyed by fires in May 2007) and "Million Trees LA".
